Projects

Self Driving Golf Cart

Makers has teamed up with a Mechanical Engineering senior design team to add advanced computer vision capabilities to a golf cart. We are utilizing depth sensing and object detection to autonomously navigate around campus. Move aside, Starship robots!

Smart Security Camera

In the age of Amazon Prime, package theft is becoming a significant problem for many homeowners. We are utilizing the latest in computer vision and activity recognition to create a security camera capable of differentiating package theft from package delivery.

Smart Light

This is a smart light project that can serve as a basis for an Internet of Things (IoT) project. This project currently plays songs from Google Music and makes audio visualizations using LEDs. A web application and a wifi connection is used to control an Arduino connected to LEDs and audio speakers. The web application is created using Node.js, Vue.js, and WebStorm (an IDE from JetBrains.com). Learn More.

Epilepsy EEG Visualization

Makers has been developing a system for explainable AI and real-time visualization of EEG signals for patients with epilepsy. We hope to empower clinicians to better identify the onset of slow activity, one of the strongest predictive markers of sudden death in epilepsy to get patients the care they need faster. Rubik’s Cube Solver

Makers is developing a Rubik’s cube solver that will solve scrambled Rubik’s cubes at high rates of speed using Nema 17 stepper motors and code written in python. Watch Code Demonstration.

Capture the Hole

We mashed up Cornhole with Tic-Tac-Toe, and Capture the Hole was born! Try to light up three in a row, but beware: your opponents can take over any spaces you may have lit up. We use laser sensors and computer vision to determine which player throws a bag through which hole. Learn More.
